Mission Statement

The Information Technology Department is dedicated to providing high quality, cost effective information technology enabled business solutions.

Our Keys to Success

In order for technology to meet county business operations and citizen needs – the Information Technology department must deliver the following:

Top Notch Customer Service & Support

Our department services over 60 separate buildings spread out across over 7,092 square miles of land area and over 19 different county agencies. In order to manage the large scale of services that we provide we have instituted Service Level Agreements which holds our staff accountable to resolving customer requests within specific time frames.

Project Management Accountability & Transparency

In order to meet the diverse needs of the agencies we support; we have implemented a project management discipline to work with county agencies to prioritize and manage small to large scale hardware/software projects and enhancements. Our goal with all projects is to properly manage internal resources, budget, scope, schedule, and risk.

Business Analysis & Process Management

It is the aim of our business analysis and process management team to understand and articulate the specific business requirements that need to be identified in order to ensure that technology enables agencies to more efficiently process transactions and streamline critical processes. We strategically plan projects with an eye towards a larger vision of ensuring we utilize common hardware/software platforms across the agencies we support in order to take advantage of economies of scale, and to reduce unnecessary complexity.

Risk Management

We strive to mitigate risk in the decisions that we make on a day to day basis. This includes strategically planning for the continuity of our technology hardware and software systems in preparation for disaster situations.

Fiscal Responsibility

Every purchase that we make takes into account the importance of being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. We are creative in our approach to purchasing computer software and hardware assets by bidding out large computer replacements, comparing the cost of developing software in-house versus purchasing shrink wrapped software, and stretching the life of equipment to ensure we are realizing the full useful life of the hardware and software that supports county operations.
