High Water Levels reminder to boaters

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office would like to remind everyone out enjoying area lakes and waterways over the next few weeks to practice safe and courteous boating while operating in and around the lakes and specifically in close proximity to shorelines. The Sheriff's Office is suggesting slow or no wake on St. Louis County waterways due to the high water levels from recent rainfall in and around the area.

The County is also working closely with the National Weather Service and Minnesota Power to monitor current and potential impacts downstream resulting from the needed release of water from the Island Lake Reservoir.
