The strong initial surge of applications for federal financial aid from St. Louis County residents affected by the June flood has already started to slow, allowing FEMA to reduce its operating hours at the Disaster Recovery Center in Virginia. The Center initially was open seven days a week, but will now be closed on Sundays. It will continue to operate Monday-Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with all appointments on a first come, first served basis.

The county is auctioning 55 properties, including buildable lots, recreational land, waterfront properties, and even three islands in Burntside Lake.
