On 10/16/2024, Dylan Adrian Day 01/25/1990, of Minneapolis and Bryan Joseph Hodapp 03/15/1987, of Gilbert were sentenced in United States District Court Minneapolis, for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing stemmed from an overdose death investigation conducted by member of the Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force that ended up with 2 adult males deceased and 1 female critically injured.

On 10/13/2024 around 2200 hrs., the Fond Du Lac Police Department (FDLPD) received a report of a missing person in the Brookston area. A family member of NORI JEAN PRIBBLE, 51 years old, reported that PRIBBLE had not been heard from since that morning. 

Today, the Honorable Theresa M. Neo sentenced Dale John Howard, 25, to 240 months in prison for Second Degree Murder while committing Domestic Assault by Strangulation, St. Louis County Attorney Kim Maki said. During a plea hearing on September 17, 2024, Mr. Howard acknowledged that he caused the death of his girlfriend, Allisa Vollan, in the early morning hours of March 22, 2024.

On October 12th, 2024, at 6:11 pm, a hiker in the Bear Head State Park area called 911, looking for assistance in getting out of the woods.  Due to the poor cell coverage in the area, responding Deputies were unable to make contact with the hiker.  The St. Louis County Rescue Squad was called out to assist with a search of the area. 

Construction of the new bridge on West Skyline Parkway leading to the Spirit Mountain recreation area is complete and the bridge reopened today, more than a month ahead of schedule.
