Home prices continue to rise, and this is reflected in the 2024 St. Louis County Assessment Summary. The report was just completed by the St. Louis County Assessor's Department and shows the total assessed estimated market value of St. Louis County property for 2024 is $26,717,542,500 up from last year’s $24,687,246,900. On 04/26/2024, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to multiple unrelated crashes in the timeframe of just thirty-five minutes.

The West Skyline Parkway bridge that serves as a route into Spirit Mountain recreation area will close beginning Monday, April 22. St. Louis County Public Works is replacing the bridge this summer. The project, and resulting closure, is expected to be completed in mid-November.

On April 16, 2024, the Hon. Eric L. Hylden sentenced Brandon Capone Williams-Gillard, 25, to 480 months for his conviction of Aiding and Abetting Intentional Second-Degree Murder. Williams-Gillard received additional concurrent sentences of 71 months for his conviction of Aiding and Abetting Second Degree Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and 132 months for his conviction for Drive by Shooting. The 480-month sentence is the maximum sentence allowed under law for the Murder conviction.
