Road conditions that are more typical for April during spring thaw are happening now in December on St. Louis County roads. Excessive rain and warm temperatures are deteriorating gravel roads, and Public Works is limited in what it can do to make repairs. Anyone encountering unsafe road conditions can report them by calling 911.

Male and ATV break through ice on Boulder Dam Reservoir

An adult male from Saginaw, MN broke through the ice on Boulder Lake while riding his ATV on 12/18/2023 at 6:53 AM. The male was able to get out of the water by himself.  Due to the warm weather, the Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to be extremely cautious on the ice.
