Sheriff's Office hosts Coffee with a Cop event in Virginia

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is hosting "Coffee with a Cop" - an event aimed at building relationships and encouraging conversation between citizens and deputies. The event will be Thursday, November 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Adventures Restaurant, 5475 Mountain Iron Drive in Virginia.

Methamphetamine bust

On November 13, 2023 members of the Lake Superior Violent Offenders Task Force arrested an individual at the Cenex gas station at 3504 Hwy 53 in Fayal Township. A search warrant was later obtained for the vehicle involved and during the search, approximately 5lbs of methamphetamine was located along with $1000.00 US currency. The individual was later booked into the St. Louis Co Jail in Virginia for 1st degree sales of methamphetamine.

Youth in Action conference is November 9

The annual conference featuring workshops presented by students for students will be happening at the DECC in Duluth this Thursday. The Youth in Action "Make a Difference" conference is November 9, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Approximately 300 students in grades 7-12 from 17 schools throughout the county are expected to attend this day of inspiration and sharing.
