As planning work continues on the proposed Progress Parkway project in Eveleth, the public is invited to weigh in on potential impacts of the project. St. Louis County has prepared an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) on the proposed project, which is now available for public review and comment. An EAW is required for this project under Minnesota statute because it involves construction of a road longer than a mile that will function as a collector roadway.

ATV crash with injuries

On August 10th, 2024, at 1015pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office responded to E. Hayes Road, near County Hwy 25 which is located east of Hibbing, due to a reported ATV crash.  Upon arrival of the Sheriff's Office, a passenger was found to have minor facial injuries and transported to the Virginia Hospital.
