NLX/Depot Committee

The St. Louis County Board, initiated by the Board Chair, established an NLX/Depot Committee. In 2023, the State of Minnesota appropriated 20% of the necessary funding to develop the Northern Lights Express (NLX), a proposed passenger train that would run from the Twin Cities metro area to Duluth. The Committee's objective is to utilize the development of a terminus station to create a "Grand Entry to St. Louis County."

County Commissioners serving on this committee include Annie Harala, Keith Nelson, and Patrick Boyle. The NLX/Depot Committee also includes staff from the following departments: Administration, The Depot, Economic & Community Development, and Public Works.
